You can configure your site to either limit orders to the quantity you have on hand or allow your customers to place orders for items that are currently out of stock.

Via the Administration site you can manage your inventory by a variant or an attribute such as a color or size. Your storefront can also be configured to show the customer the amount of stock you have left.
